“In 20+ years of practice, I have developed specialties in treating chronic and acute pain, addressing women's health issues, and devising multidisciplinary approaches to maximize wellness. I especially enjoy working with individuals seeking to decrease stress, and striving for a deep healing of body, mind, emotions and spirit. I use gentle, effective needling, often combining acupuncture with modalities like cupping, electro-acupuncture, heat, moxibustion, relaxation techniques, movement, nutritional counseling and breathing practices. I utilize my skills as a Professional Certified Coach, Hoffman Process graduate, NAET Allergy Specialist, and Integral Yoga instructor to help patients implement comprehensive plans for well-being.
I treat a variety of problems, including respiratory, digestive, urological, gynecological, dermatological, and psychological symptoms. I have special training in pain treatment, and for 6 years was staff acupuncturist at Kaiser Permanente's Chronic Pain Program-San Francisco. Prior to that, I served as clinician/ educator at the East Bay Menopause-PMS Center.
I began my professional life as a dancer, touring with Twyla Tharp and later founding my own company. The rigors of dance led to pain unresponsive to conventional medicine. I turned to acupuncture and was deeply affected by its healing capacity. I immediately pursued training and was licensed in 1984.”
