“In addition to acupuncture, I do a great deal of hands-on treatment. This includes energy work (such as Reiki, Therapeutic Touch, and Qi Gong), shiatsu and other massage, and gentle osteopathic manipulation. With these techniques, I can be more effective than I could be with needles alone, especially for musculoskeletal conditions. I am in direct contact with the patient"s body and energy systems. I stay with the patient for the entire treatment—I don"t just put in some needles and leave. Normally I spend an hour or more with each patient.
I am one of a very few practitioners in Albuquerque doing Toyo Hari, a form of Japanese acupuncture which allows treatment with minimal needling, or even with just contact needling rather than insertion. This is especially helpful for very sensitive patients.
I'm told that I explain more and listen more than a lot of practitioners. This probably comes from my many years as a private music teacher. I've spent my whole work life one-on-one with clients, and I give my total attention to each person's needs.”
