
“Dr. Cheng graduated from the combined study program at the Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China, and received the Bachelor Degree of Medicine for Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine in 1982. Upon graduation, she obtained the only clinical resident position at the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH), founded by the Rockefeller Foundation of United States in 1917. After finishing a concentrated residential training in both Western Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine in PUMCH, she obtained an Apprenticeship Award, apprentice to Master Shenyu Zhu, one of the Supreme Authorities of Chinese Medicine.
From January, 1985, to 1987, she practiced and taught oriental medicine and acupuncture as a physician and clinical instructor at the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine andrnAcupuncture at PUMCH, before coming to New York to continue her practice.
Dr. Cheng has been practicing Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicinein New York since 1990. She is also currently a member of the faculty of both the New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (NYCTCM) and the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, is serving as one of 13 board members of New York State Board for Acupuncture.”
