“Gilda Perez, L.Ac., C.T.R., M.D. (in Dominican Republic): Prior to starting my Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Practice I was a General Practice physician. I approach health care with a holistic philosophy that combines my training in Western Medicine (Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo) and Traditional Chinese Medicine (Pacific College of Oriental Medicine), with my experience working in the Cancer Registry field (Mt. Sinai and Montefiore Hospitals). I believe that treatment is best pursued using techniques from both Western and Chinese Medicine. I pride myself in providing relief to patients with limited success with prior treatments.
I always use patient feedback to help guide treatment. I treat secondary effects of chemotherapy and radiation in cancer patients, as well as primary effects of autism, stroke, addictions, anxiety, depression and other physical and psychological conditions (for more details please see list below).
Ideally, my patients will enter treatment with the understanding that there are always multiple options, and with the open-mindedness to give these a try. My primary treatment goals are to promote balance and to strengthen the body and mind so that they are better able to heal themselves.”
