I began studying Chinese medicine in 1980 and have been practicing since 1992. My practice is devoted to delivering acupuncture and Chinese medicine in their ancient and authentic forms, free from the elaborations of mechanistic approaches, popular health trends, and other modern systems which are not part of Chinese medicine. Chinese medicine provides the knowledge and methodology to deal with complex disease in a gentle, direct and effective manner. It provides the tools to help individuals understand their illness and their relationship to it, and to incorporate directed self-care in addition to therapeutic treatment.

Where is health and healing? I believe it is in how we live our lives every day. The thoughts we think, what we say to ourselves and others, the pace of our lives has real impact on how healthy we feel. The guiding principle of Chinese medicine is nourishing life, living in accord with the natural rhythms of the Tao. This is the core concept of my practice and includes looking at how we take care of ourselves. Laura earned a Masters Degree in Acupuncture and completed the Chinese Herbal Medicine Program from the Won Institute of Graduate Studies. She meets all standards outlined by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). With this knowledge, Laura is able to combine both Eastern and Western views to create a treatment approach that is unique to each individual.
