I am a board-certified acupuncturist that specializes in treating pain that has not responded to other types of treatment. I work with a wide variety of adult and adolescent patients to reduce or eliminate pain while addressing other health issues, such as the anxiety and depression that often follows an injury. I also specialize in neuro-acupuncture for acute and chronic central and peripheral nervous system disorders. I treat a broad spectrum of health concerns, but special areas of interest for me are post-concussion syndrome, migraine, fibromyalgia, peripheral neuropathy, shingles pain and Bell's Palsy.

I received my education and training in Traditional Chinese Medicine(MD), in China, Liaoning Province. My post-graduate master studies included work at Chengdu University, Sichuan Province. I have held the position of Head of Accupuncture Department at two teaching universities in China. In Philadelphia, I briefly worked at the University of Pennsylvania, Children's Hospital. Dr. Ruijuan Liu graduated from the best Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) University in China - Beijing University of TCM - with a MD degree in 1987. She also had the privilege to be trained by the traditional method of "Learning from Top TMC Experts Program" from 1997 to 2000, which was sponsored by the China Ministry of Health.
