“I have been a board certified Acupuncturist since July 2000. Prior to this I was a Physician Assistant for 26 years and understand the benefits of combining both types of medicine to achieve the best results for your healthcare. I blend different types of acupuncture including 5 element, TCM, and Taoist I Ching to fit the needs of the client in a very soothing and nurturing atmosphere. In addition I incorporate other forms of energy work including Chi-Gong and Reiki. I may suggest herbal supplements, dietary and lifestyle changes to enhance their treatments.
“As an Acupuncture Physician and Doctor of Oriental Medicine, I integrate knowledge of Chinese, North American, Amazon Herbs, and therapeutic grade essential oils into a system of energy medicine.
“Thank you for checking out my page! I've been sharing the good news of acupuncture and Chinese herbs here in North Florida for almost 18 years now! I began this journey at the Tao Institute, studying Tai Chi & Qigong healing arts ('92 to '95). I was so inspired by the Chinese philosophical studies there that I gladly left my medical paralegal position at the Holland & Knight law firm to study Chinese Medicine at the Mandarin School of Chinese Medicine ('93 to '96 masters in acupuncture). I'm licensed and board certified and EXPERIENCED - with over 22,000 treatments given.

“It is my conviction that the human body wishes to gravitate toward a balanced state of being. My role as an acupuncturist is to encourage or gently nudge the body in that direction through my work as a practitioner of Chinese medicine. To this end, I will utilize the tools within the scope of my practice including acupuncture, herbs, Tai Chi, Qi Gong and exercise.
“I started training in Chinese muscle therapy and bone setting while practicing Chinese martial arts in Malaysia in the 1970s. Partly due to the fact that my grandparents were Chinese Physicians, I then trained as an Acupuncturist in Singapore and later obtained my Florida Acupuncture license in 1994. I have practiced in Orange Park and Jacksonville since then. I offer a holistic wellness plan to my patients to include an all natural way to good health using a combination of acupuncture, herbal supplements, acupressure massage treatments and Taiji (Tai Chi) Qigong exercise.

“Patient education is very important to me and I take care to let my patients understand their bodies and the treatments that I offer. I use multiple treatment techniques such as acupuncture, custom herbal medicine, and other adjunctive therapies. My specialties include Pain Management, Women's Health, Mental-Emotional Health, Colds and Flu, and "Mystery Diseases." A Florida Licensed Acupuncture Physician, I hold a Masters in Oriental Medicine and Bachelors in Professional Health (western medicine) from the Florida College of Integrative Medicine. Acupuncture in Jacksonville - is it right for me?
Acupuncture is based on the concepts of oriental medicine or traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and is one of the oldest healing practices in the world. Jacksonville acupuncturists are health care professionals who evaluate and treat the many conditions, aches and pains that respond to acupuncture.
Acupuncturists insert very fine acupuncture needles into a number of trigger points on your body. The purpose of the needles is to stimulate acupuncture points or meridians. The needles do not inject any substance into your body and are so fine as to be virtually impossible to feel. In some cases, acupuncture may be accompanied by electrical stimulation or the burning of moxa, a form of heat therapy. Or use acupressure, where physical pressure is applied by hand or elbow to trigger points with the aim of clearing blockages in these meridians.
'Accupuncture' and 'Accupuncturist' are common mis-spellings.
Credentials for Jacksonville licensed acupuncturists?
A licensed acupuncturist in Jacksonville needs a minimum of two years college education and must complete three years of professional training and pass the State's approved licensing examination. The three year program includes both theory and hands-on clinical practice. Most States' professional training programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) and by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
