“At Abacus Chinese Medicine we combine knowledge of "classical texts" and methodology with modern diagnostics and labs. Due to my affiliation with colleague Shelley Ochs, scholar of Chinese Medicine History, Translator, and director of Applied Channel Theory Clinic in Beijing, I am not limited to western translations. Therefore, I continue to study and apply in the clinic"original source" material. This style of work involves a personalized treatment plan for optimal benefit. I do not blend other traditions into my practice. Though, I do refer my patients to other healthcare professionals for specific needs.
“I enjoy working with people who want a provider who can provide answers to their health questions. People who want their thoughts and input to have serious consideration in their treatment plan. People who understand that healing comes from within when the appropriate steps are taken. People who want a successful conclusion to their care, whether it be relief from pain, an improvement in digestion, or improvement in function. Over the twenty plus years of working in the alternative healthcare field, I have helped hundreds of people. I would like to have the opportunity to share that experience with you.

“"As a traditional naturopath and acupuncturist my practice is multifold. I work with patients from an individualized perspective, and in addition to acupuncture, utilize nutrition, lifestyle and herbal approaches. There is a strong focus on educating the patient in self-help methods. Patients are encouraged to ask questions and take an active role in their therapy program. I like to give my patients the "fishing pole" and not just the fish! My practice is not an acupuncture factory. I spend at least 45 minutes to over an hour with each patient and take the time to listen, really listen.

Acupuncture in Kentucky (KY) - is it right for me?
Acupuncture is based on the concepts of oriental medicine or traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and is one of the oldest healing practices in the world. Kentucky (KY) acupuncturists are health care professionals who evaluate and treat the many conditions, aches and pains that respond to acupuncture.
Acupuncturists insert very fine acupuncture needles into a number of trigger points on your body. The purpose of the needles is to stimulate acupuncture points or meridians. The needles do not inject any substance into your body and are so fine as to be virtually impossible to feel. In some cases, acupuncture may be accompanied by electrical stimulation or the burning of moxa, a form of heat therapy. Or use acupressure, where physical pressure is applied by hand or elbow to trigger points with the aim of clearing blockages in these meridians.
'Accupuncture' and 'Accupuncturist' are common mis-spellings.
