Karen is a New York State licensed, nationally certified Five Element acupuncturist. Karen earned a Master of Acupuncture degree from Tai Sophia Institute in Maryland. As the first accredited acupuncture program in the United States, Tai Sophia's program combines rigorous classroom teaching with rich clinical experiences. As a result, Karen has a strong theoretical and philosophical foundation of how to treat each patient with skill, compassion and care.
Patients report relief from a wide range of physical and emotional concerns. Some of the most common are stress, headaches/migraines, neck and back pain, sleep issues, allergies, digestive disorders, gynecological concerns, hypertension, addiction, chronic fatigue, fybromyalgia, depression, anxiety and side effects of chemotherapy. Five Element acupuncture has trained Karen to treat each patient as the individual they are...not just the symptoms they have.
Karen earned a Bachelor's degree in Business prior to her acupuncture studies. Fifteen years in the corporate world and several moves around the country led her to acupuncture. Karen's own treatment and path to wellness then led her to pursue a Master of Acupuncture degree. After being in a group practice in Maryland, she moved back to Long Island to be near family and continue this powerful work in private practice.
