I am a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Medical Doctor from Taiwan. I also teach TCM to University students in California. I specialize in internal medicine, dermatology, gynecology and gastroenterology. I have a doctorate from China Medical University and gained experience from 10+ years of practice as a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, working with the best specialists at the Wan Fang Hospital, the Taiwan City Hospital, and the Hospital of China Medical University. In addition to treating patients at my practice, I teach theoretical and clinical traditional Chinese medicine classes at Five Branches University in San Jose, CA.

Oliver's journey into healing arts began in 1982. As a practitioner of acupuncture and Chinese medicine who specializes in Traumatology (Ditda-Shangke), he received extensive apprenticeship training in the States, Hong Kong, and Beijing under several reputable first-generation physicians, esoteric healers of Eastern medicine, and venerable masters of traditional martial arts since childhood. Oliver also served as a clinical intern and mentored at various facilities including American Institute of Acupuncture Orthopedics & Traumatology, California Pacific Medical Center, and Yueyang Hospital of Integrative Medicine in Shanghai, China.

I am a practitioner of traditional Japanese acupuncture and have studied extensively with master acupuncturist Koji Ichihashi of the Kurumadani School of Japan. Japanese acupuncture technique involves shallow insertion of very thin, delicate needles into points along the Meridians of the body. It is a relaxing spa-like treatment that is gentle and essentially pain free. This style incorporates medical Shiatsu massage while the needles are in the body. I give my patients self-care education, Qigong (energy movement), nutritional counseling and suggest Chinese herbal therapies and/or supplements in a nurturing environment.

My approach to health is collaborative and holistic; I want to understand who you are and how the imbalance/pain/disease originated, so that we can help the body heal. I typically employ deep acupressure before doing acupuncture, a unique style, and use food, herbs and supplements to strengthen the body. I enjoy teaching people about the traditional oriental philosophy and methods, and also teach relaxation practices and yoga poses.

Being a Western medical doctor first and then also a Chinese medical doctor, I have practiced integrative Western and Chinese medicine for over 30 years in hospitals in China before coming to the US as a visiting professor at UCSF and a professor at Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College Berkeley and practicing in my private TCM practice.
