I was born in China, attended medical schools in both continents. I have twenty plus years of clinic experience, with hundreds of appointments monthly. Since the medicine I practice is holistic, I start my treatment with pre-clinical consultation. By doing so, I learn about my patients from head to toe, past to present, and establish a rapport.

Dr. Cano DOES NOT OFFER IV THERAPY. Dr. Cano established his wellness practice in 2013, and since then, he has been integrating naturopathic therapies, acupuncture to analyze acute and chronic cases. In my practice I strive to awaken the physician within each patient. To that end I emphasize the importance of daily self-maintenance in a way that takes into account individual limitations and experiences. The focus of each treatment is on correcting imbalances that contribute to the symptoms that the patient is experiencing. The overall goal of continuing treatments is to help each individual recognize how daily experiences can have a negative and/or positive impact on the balance of their health. Awareness of potential imbalances is the first step toward improving the overall quality of life.

Dr. Peter Zilahy has been practicing complementary medicine for the past 30 years. He has an extensive knowledge in functional neurology and medicine along with acupuncture and clinical nutrition. Dr. Zilahy prides himself in being “ahead of the curve” when it comes to natural methods. For example, in the early eighties he was advising patients to stay away from transfatty acids and lowering cholesterol when a cholesterol reading of 300 was normal. In 1989 he was one of the first practioners in the state to implement an exercise center for spinal conditions when the standard of care was bedrest.

Acupuncture is the art and science of correcting imbalances or disharmonies in the body and mind by balancing the body’s physical and energetic factors, and promoting the free flow of Qi and blood. Optimal health is dependent on the free flow of Qi and blood throughout the body. Pain and illness occur when there are blockages or imbalances in these factors in a particular area or throughout the body. At various locations along each of the various energy meridians are specific acupoints where the meridian’s energy can be manipulated in different ways. This stimulation of points brings both improved health and relief from pain.

I studied and trained in Acupuncture and classic Chinese Medicine both in United State and in China. I completed a Doctoral Degree of Medicine in the specialty of Acupuncture & Moxibustion and Tuina, and studied under a number of renowned Chinese medicine masters. I have lots clinical experience in both China, where there is a high volume of patients, and in the United States. My ongoing study covers frontier techniques. For example, Acupuncture spirit: it is pulse-regulating acupuncture technique from Ling Shu. By changing pulse, it balances and regulates Qi to gain the strongest result from mildest stimulation by smaller and fewer needles.

Many patients are surprised (and some are relieved!) to know that I specialize in acupuncture without needles. Instead of needles, I use AcuLaser (laser light) to stimulate acupuncture points. Patients find these treatments to be relaxing and effective. Meanwhile, a growing body of clinical and scientific evidence is validating this modern modality when used in the context of the acupuncture meridian system, a framework developed thousands of years ago.
