NJCA is a community acupuncture clinic. "Community" means that everyone is treated in one big, comfy room. It also means that our fee structure is much lower than average. At NJCA, our sliding scale is between $30- $65, every time. Clients keep their clothing on and relax in reclining chairs while acupuncture treatment gently encourages their nervous system to relax, promoting healing through out the body. Joanna Jodar is a board certified Acupuncturist and Herbalist. She is accredited by the National Certification Commission of Oriental Medicine. In addition, she is also an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist and certified in Facial Rejuvenation. Her clinical experience includes working at various hospitals in New York such as St. Vincent's Hospital, Hospital for Joint Diseases and Lincoln Hospital. She has also completed clinical rotations in numerous hospitals in Beijing, China.

My approach to health and well being is to treat the whole person and not just the symptom. This philosophy of treatment goes back thousands of years in Eastern Medicine. The goal to overall health and well being is to balance our stressful professional careers, our personal lives and our body's basic and essential nutritional requirements, all of which can be difficult to manage. Studies have shown that long term stress can alter the intricate homeostasis of the brain's chemical and hormonal output, affecting every aspect of our body, from the function of internal organs to our bone structure to our connective tissue.

My goal is to use Eastern Medicine to help my patients achieve their optimal physical and mental health.
