As a medical practitioner who has been in the health care profession for 30 years, I bring to my acupuncture practice both western and holistic medical experience providing a safe and balanced approach to the needs of my clients. Dr. Jennifer Moffitt has been active on the cutting edge of integrating science and intuitive energy styles of healing for over 35 years. Formerly a research scientist at UC Davis, her background in clinical chemistry and neuroscience allows a blend of both eastern and western medicine in a unique way. Jennifer completed her MSTOM at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and her doctorate at 5 Branches University. She has advanced training in clinical neuroscience, trauma work and primitive reflex integration. She is currently publishing her research and creating advanced trauma based clinical training at the post-doc level.

Farahnaz Akhavan has worked in the alternative medicine and health care field for over 20 years. She worked in the field of OB/GYN and women's health for several years before becoming an alternative medicine practitioner. She also worked with the united nations as health care professional for two years. She has helped chronically ill patients for numerous years through pain management and nutritional / herbal consultation. She has post graduate training in pain management, migraine headache, and arthritis pain. She accepts attorney's lien for auto and work injuries.

At Harmony Community Wellness Center, our mission is to provide affordable, high quality acupuncture to the North County community. We do this by offering individualized treatments in a quiet, open community setting. We ask you to decide what you can afford on a sliding scale ($20-40). We want you to come often enough to really be able to get better and stay better, and the sliding scale is our way of helping you make that commitment. There is an additional $10 paperwork fee for your first appointment.

Growing up in Vietnam and influenced by the culture of Asia, I began absorbing in acupuncture and herbal medicine in my childhood. I earned my Master's degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine in 1996 and have been in private practice ever since. Since 2008 I have been awarded the Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine degree from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, where I taught and supervised with strict traditional standards balanced with large dosages of humor.
