I believe that health is more than the absence of disease, that it is the state of optimum physical, mental, and social well being. I offer compassionate care in a relaxed environment, with nearly no pain needling technique. I uses Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture as the primary techniques, but I also incorporate other modalities, such as Reiki and the Amethyst BioMat to achieve the best results. I look at the body as a whole and not just at the problem to create systemic results, resulting in balancing the entire body.

I practice Traditional Chinese Medicine treating a wide spectrum of complaints from acute injuries to chronic diseases. As a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, I treat the individual and not just the symptoms. My treatment modalities include acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, Chinese herbal prescriptions, cupping, gua sha, auricular (ear) acupuncture, Chinese medical massage, and dietary and lifestyle education/changes. I encourage my patients to be as involved in their treatment and health as I am. I like to educate and communicate and love when my patients ask me questions about how to become healthier!

Healing begins inside you. A doctor is a therapist and also an educator. A patient is a student and also a self-healer. Healing is teamwork and is not dependent on only one party. Patients who have failed using other therapies, and now are interested in alternative medicine. However, Chinese medicine is never an alternative. It is an ancient medicine that views the human body and illness from a different perspective. You may have had experiences before where you are not able to solve a problem but you suddenly found your solution by looking at it from a different angle.

It is my goal to make sure you feel your best and stay that way. I treat each patient individually by taking into consideration their constitution, body type, age, what ails them at the time, and even the time of year. Using the ancient practice and philosophy of Chinese medicine and Massage therapy, I aim to treat the "root" of the problem, and not just the "branch," or the present symptom. In this way, the body can be treated and healed at a deeper level, fixing the core problem, and not just bandaging up superficial manifestations of the problem. My goal is to achieve balance so that optimum health and happiness is possible.

Master's Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Licensed Acupuncturist in Colorado and have been in practice for 9 years. I specialize in treating pain, sports injury, post-op rehabilitation, and allergy elimination (NAET) www.naet.com. Acupuncture can treat many disorders, but my specialties are what I see the most and have had the most success treating. For the last 3 years, I have been treating athletes at CSU-Pueblo including the football, baseball, soccer, basketball, cheerleading, and golf teams. This is where I found out how important acupuncture is for post-op rehabilitation during physical therapy.

Chinese Medicine focuses on bringing the body into balance. It is the perfect choice for problems that don't have Western Medicine drug treatments, like viruses, and issues that don't have a clear diagnosis such as stress, hypersensitivity, and chronic fatigue. Your acupuncture treatment is customized, not only for each patient, but even for each visit based on your health right at the time of your appointment. Licensed acupuncturists use extremely fine, individually packaged sterile, disposable needles. Most patients don't find treatment at all painful. I have a Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine with 2700 hours of training.

Like many here in Colorado, I believe that to maintain optimal mind-body-spirit health we need to stay active and to connect to nature. When we are nourished in this way we often have the energy and clarity to fully express our gifts in the world. However, overuse, pain and injury are a reality active people often contend with. Even minor injuries can take a toll on our over wellbeing and keep us from the activities we love.

I love working with people who know that everything’s connected - mind, body, soul. The people who understand healing does not happen over night, it’s a process that takes learning + pivoting and is willing to take an active role in their healing process by learning how to best take care of the body!

Acupuncture in Colorado - is it right for me?
Acupuncture is based on the concepts of oriental medicine or traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and is one of the oldest healing practices in the world. Colorado acupuncturists are health care professionals who evaluate and treat the many conditions, aches and pains that respond to acupuncture.

Acupuncturists insert very fine acupuncture needles into the body. The purpose of the needles is to stimulate acupuncture points or meridians. The needles do not inject any substance into your body and are so fine as to be virtually impossible to feel. In some cases, acupuncture may be accompanied by electrical stimulation or the burning of moxa, a form of heat therapy. Or use acupressure, where physical pressure is applied by hand or elbow to trigger points with the aim of clearing blockages in these meridians.

'Accupuncture' and 'Accupuncturist' are common mis-spellings.

Credentials for Colorado licensed acupuncturists?
A licensed acupuncturist in Colorado needs a minimum of two years college education and must complete three years of professional training and pass the State's approved licensing examination. The three year program includes both theory and hands-on clinical practice. Most States' professional training programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) and by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
