My ideal patient is one who is willing to be a co creator in their health process. I specialize in digestive disorders, immune issues, pain, hormonal issues and fatigue. I treat all ages. I use acupuncture, Chinese herbs, Ayurvedic dietary and lifestyle recommendations and muscle response testing to identify core imbalances as well as herbal and nutritional recommendations. Your willingness to make lifestyle and dietary changes that help improve health and your symptoms is a big plus.

I use the combination of extensive knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a deep passion for healing to help my patients feel and look their best without the harsh effects and risks of the Western methods. I became interested in natural healing techniques a long time ago. Considering the potential side effects of medicines commonly prescribed, I thought it worthwhile to study alternative methods of healing. Initially, I trained in Shiatsu and Massage Therapy, I graduated from the New England School of Acupuncture in 1984. My post-graduate studies involved extensive training in Chinese Herbal Medicine.

At Tai Chi Acupuncture & Wellness Center our goal is to create healthier and happier people by providing quality care and alternative healing therapies to those in need. While there will always be a place for Western Medicine, we take a different approach to health and wellness. Our programs, classes and treatments focus on bringing balance to mind, body, and spirit. Our bodies are amazing vehicles, and we are just beginning to understand their full capacities. I am in my 25th year as a licensed Acupuncturist. I see many patients with pain and orthopedic related problems as well as chronic and debilitating illnesses such as cancer, MS, irritable bowel, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, arthritis, and mental health issues. I am also on staff at the MGH Cancer Center. While I do not treat cancer directly, I work to help with immune support and stress reduction, to support the whole person in body and mind as they go through cancer treatment. In addition to acupuncture, I work with my hands sometimes using Tuina chinese massage or Specialized Stretching (AIS).

Dr. K.Zhang holds a PhD degree from Fujian Medical University and a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAOM) in Chinese acupuncture from New England School of Acupuncture (NESA), MCPHS and the pain program from Tufts University School of Medicine. Before coming to US, Dr. Zhang had practiced in China for years. He is a national Diplomate of Oriental Medicine, certified by NCCAOM, and is licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine to practice acupuncture in the state. He is also a research scientist in Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School and Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM).

Acupuncture is fundamentally about two things: stimulating movement and balance of body and mind, and, just as important, enabling people to be in positive communication with themselves. My mission is not just to help alleviate pain and other ailments, but to help clients move forward with a new, healthier perspective. I approach my work from a place of stillness and respect, having practiced meditation, qigong and yoga for many years. You will feel at peace here, and that is always the best starting point for healing.

I came into the practice of Chinese Medicine as a patient twenty seven years ago. Receiving acupuncture for the first time was an experience of both welcome relief from pain mixed with a sense of deep relaxation. It is from that experience that I view each patient. With a background in education, I work on treatment plans that give individual focus to patient issues as well as use techniques that can accomplish a treatment goal quickly. Treatment styles include needles, laser, cupping, and non-insertive methods as required. Each patient gets gentle care and is provided with tools and techniques to help maintain good health.

Tybee Marruzzi is a Cohasset-based acupuncturist who has provided high-quality care on Boston's South Shore for over 20 years. She is licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine, and board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in both acupuncture and Chinese herbology. She has a Master of Science degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science located in San Diego.
