My wife and I are licensed acupuncturists and herbalists practicing in Bergen County, New Jersey. We are also licensed to practice in New York and California, as well as on the national level by the NCCAOM. As a team, we work and research together, share our experience and knowledge of acupuncture and herbs to provide outstanding treatment results. I specialize in educating my patients on how to prevent injuries and maintaining health as well as clarifying the road to recovery. Acupuncture is a great tool to help rectify some of the issues but the knowledge and an understanding of perservation go a long way to help patient's needs.

NJCA is a community acupuncture clinic. "Community" means that everyone is treated in one big, comfy room. It also means that our fee structure is much lower than average. At NJCA, our sliding scale is between $30- $65, every time. Clients keep their clothing on and relax in reclining chairs while acupuncture treatment gently encourages their nervous system to relax, promoting healing through out the body. My training includes schooling in the United States and China. I work with Traditional Chinese Medicine, Japanese Acupuncture and Nogier Auricular Acupuncture.

Dr. Scapicio is an honors graduate of the Eastern School of Traditional Medicine and Acupuncture in Montclair, N.J. At the Eastern School, he was trained extensively in Traditional Chinese Medical Acupuncture, Japanese Acupuncture, and Five Element Acupuncture. He has performed clinical internships in Chinese and Japanese styles of acupuncture. Dr. Scapicio is also a board certified diplomate of acupuncture through the National Board Certification Committee of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and a licensed acupuncturist in the State of New Jersey. Prior to to his formal training as an acupuncturist, Dr. Scapicio practiced in the health care field for over 25 years.

I began studying Chinese medicine in 1980 and have been practicing since 1992. My practice is devoted to delivering acupuncture and Chinese medicine in their ancient and authentic forms, free from the elaborations of mechanistic approaches, popular health trends, and other modern systems which are not part of Chinese medicine. Chinese medicine provides the knowledge and methodology to deal with complex disease in a gentle, direct and effective manner. It provides the tools to help individuals understand their illness and their relationship to it, and to incorporate directed self-care in addition to therapeutic treatment.
