Being an integrative medicine physician, board-certified psychiatrist, and a fifth generation traditional Chinese doctor and acupuncturist, I recognize and address all aspects of mind, body and spirit in the health of every patient who comes to see me, even when the initial reason for consultation and treatment was for physical or emotional disorders alone. I treat physical dysfunctions that no structural causes can be found such as irritable bowel syndrome, impotence, insomnia, infertility, fatigue, incontinence, tinnitus, etc. It could be social behavior problems, such as addiction to food, chemical substances, sex,, gambling etc.

I encourage my patients to take an active role in managing both their immediate issues and long term health. I work with all kinds of people, and especially enjoy working with young adults and teenagers.

Whenever possible, I believe in choosing a natural path to health and I emphasize the same for my patients. I find that acupuncture and homeopathy are powerful modalities in restoring the physiological and energetic balance in the body. I view illness and pain as an injury to one's vital force (Qi, life energy). Rather than reactively attack the disease or injury, my approach to acupuncture is to restore health and balance in the vital force, which in turn allows the body to heal itself.

In my practice, I use various modalities such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping, moxibustion, and nutritional therapy. I enjoy seeing many patients with a wide variety of conditions. I frequently treat patients for fertility, cancer care, stress and anxiety, menstrual disorders, emotional concerns, digestive disorders, addictions, injuries, and pain management.

I have worked with holistic health modalities since 1983 and became an acupuncturist and herbalist in 2002. As a graduate of the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (now known as the Pacific College of Health and Science) my focus is on helping my patients utilizing acupuncture and related therapies to improve their health and wellbeing. I am especially effective at treating pain, women's health issues, and immune system imbalances including allergies and sinusitis. I am devoted to providing safe, effective, patient centered care.

At Life Balance Acupuncture, I take a holistic approach to treat the whole person, not just the symptoms (but we treat them immediately and effectively too for fast relief!). Acupuncture treatment helps the body to correct imbalances that occur from injury, stress, trauma, poor diet, and disease so it can heal itself naturally. Sessions by appointment only 7 days a week including Saturdays and Sundays. First session is a full 1 1/2 hours for $150. Follow up sessions are one full hour for $100. I currently do not accept insurance but if your provider accepts Superbills your receipt provides all the information needed. Dr. Minchun Chen, a licensed oriental medical practitioner certified by NCCAOM, currently practices acupuncture and herbal medicine at her private practice. She is a professor at the Won Institute, which has the only Master's Degree program for acupuncture in Pennsylvania. Dr. Chen graduated from Nanjing Medical University with an MD degree in 1982. In China, she worked as an internist and endocrinologist for 8 years. Continuing her studies in Germany, she earned a PhD (1994) exploring disease-causing genes for Graves disease and Diabetes at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz. She learned acupuncture and herbology from national-renown doctors of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Dr. Williams is a Board Certified Internal Medicine physician who specializes in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. She graduated from Beijing Medical University, one of the best in China.
