I received a Masters of Oriental Medicine by the International Institute of Chinese Medicine, achieved a certification in Oriental Medicine by the NCCAOM and am currently a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Virginia. My certification approves me to perform both acupuncture and Chinese herbology in Virginia.

With more than 40 years experience, I would like to provide natural healing treatments to whoever needs help. For example, people who suffer chronic pains, need help for infertility, as well as those who seek for natural and safe treatments.

We use an holistic approach to healing, combining the best of Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, Chinese herbs, diet and qigong to help patients become and stay healthy. We practice preventive medicine and strongly believe in the old Chinese saying that "the best physician is not the one who treats patients when they become ill, but the one who keeps patients from getting sick in the first place." We use not only traditional methods to diagnose the root causes of a patient's problem, but also the lastest tools in computerized testing and analysis.

My goal is educating my patients in multiple aspects of wellness so that they experience healing on all levels. I enjoy showing patients techniques they can do when they leave our clinic, enabling them to promote their own health. My Husband and I both practice together and he is not only an acupuncturist but a skilled massage therapist. Together, we offer our patients a multi-platform approach to their health care.

Tamara has been in practice since 2000 and has a general practice of acupuncture and traditional medicine, treating everything from pain to internal conditions. In addition to a Masters in Acupuncture I hold a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) specializing in women's health. DAOM is the highest academic achievement available in the US. I have completed externships at EVMS and Shuguang Hosptial affiliated with Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Nationally certified by NCCAOM and in Virginia, I bring over 25 years of experience in western and Chinese medicine. Having trained and practiced as a doctor at the prestigious Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, I moved with my family to the U.S. and subsequently studied to be licensed as an R.N. I have worked at Fairfax INOVA Hospital for over 9 years. My mission is to augment the marvels of western medicine with the wisdom and skill of treating the whole body so that its systems and connections work optimally.

My primary goal is to provide patients with acupuncture therapy that gets effective results as quickly as possible.
